SIR done in UP, 19% voters may be deleted from rolls

AS the deadline for Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Uttar Pradesh ended on Friday, the details of 2.89 crore voters couldn’t be collected.
The SIR deadline had been extended twice earlier but was not extended a third time.
Now the work of filling and submitting enumeration forms has been completed. Currently, there are 15.44 crore names in the voter list, and out of these, 2.89 crore (approx. 19%) names are likely to be deleted.
