After two years of closure, Museo Sugbo, one of Cebu’s historical sites, will reopen its doors to the public on a date coinciding with the month-long celebration of the 456th Founding Anniversary of Cebu Province.

The official reopening ceremony is set at 5 p.m. on August 28, but the museum will formally welcome visitors starting on the next day, August 29.

From Monday to Friday, visitors and tourists can visit the museum for a minimal entrance fee, which will be determined later.

Capitol’s Consultant on Heritage and Culture, Dr. Jose Eleazar Reynes Bersales, said the reopening will also feature the unveiling of a marker from the National Museum of the Philippines, designating Museo Sugbo as an Important Cultural Property (ICP).

Bersales said the redesigning of exhibitions will not happen until next year, but the provincial government decided to reopen the museum now to enable the public to reconnect with its history.

“We understand that despite the presence of NMP, people wanted to ask the history of the province and Cebu City, data that you can't find in any other museums, except Museo Sugbo,” he explained.

No genuine leaders today, only politicians

The tragedy of our nation today is that we have no authentic leaders. We only have dirty, traditional politicians. There’s no moral difference between the incompetent incumbent president and the overly-ambitious vice president. Cebu is being led by incompetents who look honest and a few competent ones who smell bad with regards to integrity. The only reason why the disgruntled military isn’t intervening to oust BBM is the more dangerous option of having a more scheming vice president and her controversial brothers and devious old father.
