State conducts maiden survey to help single moms’children access education

The Education Department has begun a survey of children of single mothers across Maharashtra for the first time to provide them with educational facilities.

Through the exercise, district-wise statistics are being collected, and about 17 districts have submitted data so far.

Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Chairman Sharad Gosavi has issued a circular directing the state’s deputy directors of education, primary and secondary education officers, education inspectors and administrative officers of municipal corporations and municipalities to conduct the survey.
