US ace Trusty’s plenty to be grateful for - including new Celts boss Nancy
AUSTON TRUSTY might be missing his traditional Thanksgiving in the US but there are plenty of things to be grateful for right now.
Like the prospect of one of the top coaches in his homeland arriving as manager in the next couple of days.
Trusty got the lowdown on Wilfried Nancy from the Columbus Crew contingent in the US national side last week ~ and received rave reviews.
The big defender is also quick to shoot down any snobs who might be scoffing at the level of the MLS.
Nancy is set to check in over the weekend with a view to taking charge next week after achieving huge success over the pond.
The Frenchman led Columbus to the MLS crown in 2023 and the general feeling was it was only going to be a matter of time before teams in Europe came calling.
Celtic have jumped in first and Trusty insisted punters shouldn't be making any rash claims about the standard of the league he’s leaving.
Trusty said: “I haven't had a huge amount of conversations about him. But all I've heard is that he’s a good guy and a good coach.
“The MLS has definitely grown as a league. From the outside, alot ofthe time people maybe shun it a little bit or look down on it.
“Maybe that’s partly because football isn't the biggest sport in America. You have the NFL, the NBA, baseball - all that stuff.
