RECENT newspaper reports have stated that “the farm tax will cost 7,000 South West jobs” seem alarming, but then I read who the claim came from - the Country Land and Business Association (CLA).
These people are not there to protect the land, they exist to protect their privilege.
They are the political wing of the Franco-Norman aristocracy, those that by force stole our common birthright and our commons and, while still owning huge private estates, have been occupying positions of power these last thousand years, basically creating a legal and political landscape that suited themselves and their property rights while the rest of us proles can go hang, which a great many did for stealing as little as a rabbit to feed their starving families.
The CLA bleats and whines any time there is a perceived threat to their rights, privileges and tax exemptions which they use to keep themselves in clover. Right to roam - disaster! Fox hunting - Armageddon!
Fox hunting, by the way, is a sport introduced by the Normans as they liked rabbit stew and foxes were snaffling their rabbits. When fox hunting was banned in the 1990s, everyone who had some job or connection with these people were told to get out on the street as their human rights were under threat! Oh, really?
