Kash scolds Swat commander after agents leave girlfriend unprotected

Patel had ordered two members of the bureau's specialised tactical team to accompany Wilkins when she sang the national anthem at the National Rifle Association’s annual convention in Atlanta earlier this year.

The agents — trained for high-risk missions like storming barricaded buildings and rescuing hostages — assessed that the Georgia World Congress Center was already well secured and saw no immediate threat to her safety. They left before her appearance concluded, according to six people with knowledge of the incident, the NYT reported.
