Murder convict on parole shot dead in Patna hospital, 6 held

A murder convict, who was out on parole, was shot dead by gunmen inside a private hospital in Patna on Thursday, police said, adding six people have been detained in the incident while all the accused have been identified.
The deceased was identified as Chandan Mishra (36), a resident of Buxar district, who was serving a life sentence in a murder case, police said.
“He (Mishra) was transferred from Buxar to Bhagalpur jail. Chandan was on parole and admitted to Paras Hospital for treatment,” Patna SSP Kartikay Sharma said, adding the deceased was a known criminal with dozens of cases, including murder and extortion, registered against him.
