Delhi openers Arpit Rana (64) and Sanat Sangwan (79) raised a century partnership to take the hosts to 306/4 on Day 1 of their Ranji Trophy Group D match against Himachal Pradesh on Saturday.
Skipper Yash Dhull struck 61 although the trio could not convert their effort into a century.
‘Ayush Doseja was batting on 51 at stumps. Delhi had started strongly by taking the innings lead in the drawn opening game against Hyderabad.
Ajinkya Rahane rescued Mumbai with an unbeaten 118 to carry the home team to 251/5 at stumps against Chhattisgarh in another Group D game. Rahane, stripped of captaincy this season, raised a 165-run partnership with Siddhesh Lad (80).
Although he retired hurt, Rahane is expected to return after Sarfaraz Khan fell for one run late on Saturday.
