Storm could impact A55 and bring 'very large waves'

A MAJOR "stay away" warning has been issued as Storm Bram approaches.

The combination of high tides and strong winds will see "very large waves" batter the coastline of North Wales today and into Wednesday.

Gusts of around 70mph are expected to hit areas such as the Llyn peninsula and Anglesey while a wind warning is also in place across much of the rest of the region.

It has seen Met Eireann, Ireland's equivalent of the Met Office, officially name it Storm Bram. These winds will be accompanied by heavy rain and there are also seasonal high tides.

Meanwhile Traffic Wales has said there could be a potential impact on the A55 over the Britannia Bridge.
