England winning the World Cup is written in the stars with my Thomas... a mutter* knows!

THE proud mum of new England manager Thomas Tuchel said it is "written in the stars" that he will lead the side to World Cup victory.

Gabriele Tuchel still lives near the school in Germany where her son began his "unbelievable journey".

She told how he set his heart on becoming a footballer at an early age, winning national competitions at 14 before joining local side TSV Krumbach.

He went on to become a professional footballer before injury ruled him out of the game at just 25.

Since then Gabriele has seen her son manage Paris St Germain, Chelsea and Bayern Munich and win nine trophies in a glittering career.

She said landing the England job was "ein kleines Wunder" - a little miracle.

Asked if our first-ever German boss can win the World Cup for England, she told us: "He can do it, I am convinced."

Beaming with pride, she went on: "He does everything with such passion, obviously many things can happen in football. But England have not won a trophy in such a long time.
