Rovers play well only in parts as they lose on road

IT was a disappointing evening for Gresley Rovers as the were beaten 3-1 by Hucknall Town in thewir first away League match of the season on Wednesday.

Rovers did have moments in which they showed the kind of good football they have played so far this season but it was spasmodic and they struggled to deal with a forward line which included three former Moatmen in Lewis Belgrave, Niall Towle and Brad Wells - who all scored.

Rovers were under the cosh from the kickoff and keeper Brad Catlow had to make a good save to deny yet another former Moatman, Calrick Dunkley.

But the save was in vain as the half-cleared ball was crossed from the left and the unmarked Towle headed home after six minutes.

Dylan Hunniford went close to levelling four minutes later but home keeper Alfie Smith-Eccles saved.
