Rovers chalk up fourth straight victory, despite nervy ending

Talking points from Bristol Rovers' victory against Barrow at the Memorial Stadium, by Dan Hargraves
BRISTOL Rovers will go at least a month unbeaten following their 2-1 home win over Barrow on Saturday afternoon, the Gas' fourth consecutive win in League Two. Rovers started the season with four straight defeats across all competitions, and now find themselves in almost a complete reverse situation.
It is important to stress there is still so much more to come from this group, emphasised by the nerviness of Saturday's conclusion. However, within a pretty short time frame, the mood around the club has spun around on its head as Rovers find themselves in their best run of form for three-and-a-half years.
The Pirates looked the most comfortable they have been all season during the first half as Josh McEachran and Fabrizio Cavegn put Darrell Clarke's side 2-0 up.
McEachran scored with what looked to be a cross before Cavegn smashed home from close range to net his first league goal since moving from Switzerland in the summer.
Rovers could have made it 3-0 before the break, and again in the second half. However, they allowed Barrow to grow into the game and were too inviting of pressure which almost cost them two points. The visitors eventually halved the deficit through Connor Mahoney and had good opportunities to score a second goal.
PROMISE OMOCHERE PLAYING HIS BEST FOOTBALL
ALTHOUGH the forward hasn't scored from open play this season, he is doing everything else superbly. No other player in League Two has won more aerial duels than the Irishman who is giving defenders in this league an absolute nightmare. His holdup play has always been there since joining from Fleetwood Town last summer, but the sharpness with which Omochere is now playing hasn't; he almost feels like a new signing.

BRISTOL'S motorbike owners have called a summit with police chiefs because of the rising numbers of bike thefts in and around Bristol.
