Agency aiming to expand digital literacy schemes

The Electronic Transactions Development Agency (Etda) aims to attract another 100,000 people to participate in its digital literacy programmes by 2026 as part of its digital reskill development initiative amid the artificial intelligence (AI) era.

Deputy director Meetham Na Ranong said the agency has provided digital literacy programmes over the past three years.

The latest programme includes courses on cybersecurity, Al literacy, digital citizenship and social commerce.

Around 20,000 participants have received certificates from among 200,000 participants who have taken part in the programmes over the years.

Generative AI has become an important part of people’s daily life and business. Etda is set to provide many more Al literacy courses to people and small and medium-sized enterprises to boost their capability to deal with the changing business landscape, Mr Meetham said.
