BIDDING A BITTERSWEET FAREWELL TO 'VENOM' TRILOGY TOM HARDY ON FLYING HIGH, LOSING HIS TEMPER AND BEING INSPIRED IN HIS CHILLING MARVEL ROLE BY SON LOUIS

When Tom Hardy attended the UK premiere of Venom: The Last Dance in London, he was accompanied by a very special fan.

With him at the red-carpet event was his 16-year-old son Louis, his eldest child.

And as the Mad Max: Fury Road star makes his final outing as both Marvel alien Venom and its human host Eddie Brock, he reveals that it was Louis whose mother is his former girlfriend, casting director Rachael Speed - who encouraged him to take on the role.

"He loves it, and I'm happy to say he's still a massive Venom fan," says the 47-year-old actor, who has two children with his wife, fellow Peaky Blinders star Charlotte Riley, 42.

"I'm so happy to have been able to do something he can watch.

Generally, he's not that impressed by what I do- most kids aren't. But he's been a part of this journey with me, and tells me what he thinks I should be doing and what would be cool for Venom to do.

"He's been very supportive of his dad, and hopefully I've done a good job and made him proud." One of Spider-Man's most prominent arch-enemies, Venom never shies away from using violence to achieve his goals. So what makes Tom lose his temper? "It could be absolutely anything.
