Earbuds, That Give You The Best Bang For Your Buck
Men's Health Singapore
|April 2017
Wires are now passe when it comes to music, but which earbuds give you the best bang for your buck?
WHAT WE LIKED
Long known for hands-free tech commonly spotted on ears of sales and insurance folk, Jabra is less appreciated for its musical offerings. Until now. What’s impressive about the Elite Sport is how comfortable and secure they are, especially when you take them out for a workout. There’s none of the usual earbud ache you get after an hour, and how they’ve managed to cram in a fairly accurate in-ear heart rate monitor and a motion sensor that provides exercise stats is beyond us. Sound-wise is where the Elite Sport really excels against it’s rivals – the bass had both depth and power, and allowed us to take calls and even have conversations while running. And the charging case is small and compact as well, which matters if you’re going to pop them into your pocket.
WHAT WE DIDN’T LIKE
There isn’t much to dislike, but it was a bit of a bugbear that the earbuds could last only around 2½ hours during testing, which means they will die out during really long workouts or treks. You can pop them back into the charging case, which provides an extra two full charges, of course, but that will mean some waiting.
