Semerkand English Magazine meets its readers in the June issue with the feature article titled “To Whom Belongs All?”

Authored by academic and hadith scholar Abu Bakr Sifil, the lead article examines the Muslim perspective on the religion–world relationship, particularly over the last two centuries. He critiques the tendency among Muslims to relegate love of the Hereafter to the background while prioritizing worldly ambitions in all affairs. Yet, from a distinct angle, he reminds the reader that the wealth and possessions so fiercely pursued in this world ultimately belong to Allah alone.

The life story of a lesser-known Companion, Muhammad b. Maslamah, famous as the horseman of the Prophet, is told with its remarkable events, awaiting readers in the June issue.

Experiences from the minor pilgrimage are shared in the piece titled “After an Umrah,” written by Turkish academic Mehmet Gayretli.

Meanwhile, Mustafa Özen, a university lecturer in Islamic jurisprudence, contributes an article titled “What Is Boycott and Why Is It Practiced?” offering a historical exploration of the concept of boycott beginning from the time of the Prophet.

Also featured this month are articles such as “The Brotherhood in Surah al-Hujurat,” “Modernization and the Unraveling of the Family,” and “The Supplication of Mawlana Khalid,” each presenting thoughtful insights for the discerning reader.

Semerkand English Description:

Words spoken from the heart reach far beyond ornate expressions. They bypass the filter of the intellect and flow directly into other hearts. Guided by this truth, Semerkand Magazine strives to share with its readers the subtle beauties of Sufism and Islamic ethics—treasures that have breathed life into souls for centuries. For the heart listens to what is sincere, discerning it from all that is artificial and hollow.

In a world clouded by modern distractions, our intention is to rekindle that forgotten spiritual atmosphere through a language that flows from heart to heart. We do not seek to impress with grand rhetoric, but rather to strengthen the bonds between hearts with sincerity and grace—God willing, supported by the goodwill of our readers.
