The energy sector is often treated in silos comprising of different elements тАУ power, oil and gas, coal and renewable energy. So much so that we even have four different ministries working to look after their respective domains. However, ask any stakeholder; an investor, developer or an advisor and one would realise that all these four elements are closely knitted.┬а To provide an integrated view of the sector from the perspective of policy and decision makers, InfralineEnergy has launched a monthly magazine. The past decade has humbled us with the large patronage given to us by energy sector companies and professionals in our online effort. We hope to be similarly encouraged by the readers of this magazine.┬а This edition focuses on the ever increasing role that is being expected from the Government and the sudden proactivism from the Prime MinisterтАЩs Office. It is indeed satisfying that the highest office of the country is monitoring the development of the energy sector, though the current situation could certainly have been better managed. Different stories and view points from persons who have managed the affairs to the investors echo various concerns.┬а We have tried putting a judicious mix of news and views in this effort. It being our maiden attempt, we are sure that there is a good scope for improvement. Your opinions and suggestions would be valuable to us.
