NEWPORT County manager David Hughes has rejected the notion that today’s trip to Accrington Stanley is the start of a run of ‘easier’ fixtures for his struggling side.

County, who enjoyed a morale-boosting win over Cardiff City in the EFL Trophy in midweek, are bottom of the League Two table after earning just five points out of a possible 33 so far.
It has undoubtedly been a tough start to the campaign in terms of the calibre of the Exiles’ opponents.
Of their 11 league matches, nine have been against teams in the top 11 positions.
And, on paper at least, the next three games - Stanley (20th) this afternoon, Cheltenham Town (22nd) next Saturday and Harrogate Town (16th) a week after that offer the chance to climb the table.
