Nadda urges BJP legislators to stay grounded, connect deeply with people
The Statesman Bhubaneswar
|April 13, 2025
JP National President J.P. Nadda inaugurated a three-day training programme for party leaders in Puri on Saturday, urging MPs and MLAs to set aside ego and remain closely connected with people from all walks of life — especially the marginalized and underprivileged.
Personality is permanent, MP, MLA positions are temporary. Develop relationship with everyone and bear in mind that IICs are a source of information for the opposition, till the code of conduct officers behave in a certain manner, more often they are selfish, he is reported to have said in the close door training session.
He also asked the legislators to call officers, discussion action plans and ascertain timelines and progress. Go the people and tell them about the work status and what action plan has been done, make a calendar of timelines, stated Nadda.

Indian cities need to think in circles
For those of us who live in Delhi-NCR, every winter is now déja vu wrapped in smog; except it is not imagined but real. The script is also too familiar and almost normalised by now; AQI indices spike, schools close, flights circle, and the usual cast of villains takes the stage - stubble burning, diesel trucks, firecrackers and unhelpful winds. By February, the haze lifts just enough for everyone to move on with their lives. The real affliction in Indian cities and especially Delhi runs much deeper. The city is not just polluted but it is simply wasteful. Indian cities are designed to discard value as fast as they create it.

‘Cloud seeding is just cosmetic’
Amid the ongoing debate over air quality data manipulation, Delhi once again lies shrouded in toxic smog as winter sets in. With citizens, environmentalists, and political leaders taking to the streets to demand their fundamental right to clean air, questions arise: can pollution data really be tampered with, and are temporary fixes, such as anti-smog guns, mist sprays, and artificial rain, enough to clear the city’s foul air?
