2026 holidays released

Malacañang has released a list of holidays for next year through a proclamation that enumerates at least nine long holidays and declares the anniversary of the 1986 EDSA Revolution that deposed President Marcos' late father and namesake as a special working day.
Under Proclamation 1006 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin by the authority of Marcos on Sept. 3, the regular holidays for 2026 include New Year's Day (Jan. 1), Maundy Thursday (April 2), Good Friday (April 3), Araw ng Kagitingan (April 9), Labor Day (May 1) and Independence Day (June 12).
Other regular holidays are National Heroes Day (Aug. 31), which is celebrated every last Monday of August; Bonifacio Day (Nov. 30), Christmas Day (Dec. 25) and Rizal Day (Dec. 30).
