Processed Foods Harm the Liver; Regular Exercise Key to Keeping It Healthy

World Liver Day is observed on April 19th every year to raise awareness about liver-related diseases and promote liver health across the globe.

This year's theme, "Food is Medicine", emphasizes the importance of nutrition in maintaining and improving liver health, highlighting how dietary choices can prevent and manage liver diseases. It encourages mindful eating and healthier food choices to support liver function.

The liver is one of the most vital organs in the human body, responsible for digestion, metabolism, detoxification, nutrient storage and various other important functions in the body. Unfortunately, liver diseases such as hepatitis, fatty liver, cirrhosis, and liver cancer are on the rise due to sedentary lifestyles, poor dietary choices, alcohol abuse, and increasing metabolic disorders like obesity and diabetes mellitus.
