In a huge relief to Indian workers in the UK, India has secured an agreement on the Double Contribution Convention (DCC) or social security agreement, with the UK.

This will significantly improve take-home pay of Indian workers and also reduce costs for Indian companies.

Earlier in May, it was reported that the double contribution convention under the India-UK free trade agreement (FTA) will benefit over 60,000 employees of the IT sector. "The innovative Double Contribution Convention will exempt Indian workers and their employers from UK social security contributions for three years, boosting competitiveness and earnings," said Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal.
