FRIEND HELPED TO SELL COCAINE FROM HER HOME
A “CUCKOOED” woman was forced to sell cocaine and pregabalin from her home while her pal helped cut up deals.
Charley Hornsby, 28, became a victim of “cuckooing” - when a drugs gang took over her house and forced her to sell their drugs.
Hornsby had no choice but to comply as she had run up a debt with the dealers through her own cocaine habit, Teesside Crown Court heard. Hornsby’s pal, Savanna Hawkes, 29, helped her cut the drugs and sell them to customers.
Hawkes is serving a six-year prison sentence for stabbing a woman in the neck in July 2023 in Stockton.
On Friday, Hawkes appeared in court on video link from Low Newton prison and Hornsby stood in the dock - as Jenny Haigh, prosecuting, said police searched Hornsby’s address on Roseberry View, Thornaby.
