NCP skips Mukhed race

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has unexpectedly fielded no candidates for Mukhed Municipal Council elections despite absorbing several prominent local politicians, including former Congress MLA Avinash Ghate and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena leader Subhash Sabne.
The NCP (Ajit Pawar) absence marks a significant setback for former MLA Pratap Patil Chikhlikar and district president Shivraj Patil Hotalkar, who had earlier planned their election strategies. Compounding the embarrassment, Ghate's nephew Hemant Ghate has filed nomination papers as a BJP candidate.
