Sensex Up 746 Points, Reclaims 80,000 Mark After Four Months

Benchmark Sensex jumps on oil, auto, banking gains amid foreign fund inflows.
The benchmark BSE Sensex surged 746 points on Monday, closing above the 80,000 mark, buoyed by strong buying in oil, auto and banking stocks, along with fresh foreign fund inflows and positive cues from US markets.
The 30-share Sensex jumped 746.29 points, or 0.93 per cent, to settle at 80,604.08, with 26 of its constituents ending in the green. In intraday trade, it gained as much as 778.26 points, or 0.97 per cent, to touch 80,636.05. The NSE Nifty climbed 221.75 points, or 0.91 per cent, to close at 24,585.05.
