The darkness becomes enveloping and the options diminish until there seems to be only one left: suicide. World Suicide Prevention Day is on Wednesday.

Making the decision to take one's life is just like going down a one-way street, knowing that there is no turning back.

Once life has left the body, the person who has committed suicide cannot turn back and get another chance.

But what makes it so bad that those who choose to take their precious lives cannot see the wood for the trees.

It is important to remember that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

People who have thoughts of ending their lives don't necessarily want to die.
