Nail tech skipping sleep to raise money for baby charity
The Chronicle
|November 05, 2025
A NAIL technician plans to skip sleep and take on 24 hours of appointments to raise funds for a local baby charity.
Lucy Walton will hold a 24 hour nail-a-thon at her studio in Heaton, Newcastle, in aid of Tiny Lives.
The 28-year-old was inspired to help the charity after two of her clients were supported by them. She has managed to fill all of her appointments at Skullen Studio apart from one slot at 4am.
Lucy, who lives in Ponteland, plans to make it through the night, between November 28 and November 29, with lots of coffee.
She said: “I just think it will be an absolute hoot!
“I think people are really excited. One of my clients, who is coming in at half past one, said ‘I can’t wait to tell someone I got my nails done at half one in the morning! I've got another girl who is coming in at half past five in the morning then going to Tynemouth for a dip!
“People are saying ‘How are you going to stay awake?’ There's going to be lots of coffee and cans of diet coke and vibes - and a few delivery food orders I think!
