Braunton’s up-and-down season continues but skipper says they remain competitive

BRAUNTON’S up-and-down form in the B Division continued with a three-wicket reversal at Ipplepen.
Since winning their opening two games of the season, against Clyst St George then Bovey Tracey II, Braun-ton have only managed a solitary victory over Ivybridge.
With just eight points between Braunton and the relegation zone, skipper Sam Reddick knows form as to change.
“Despite the five losses we have been competitive in every game this season, so aren't feeling too disheartened at the half way stage.
“With a bit more luck, and some better application with the bat. we can finish the season strongly.”
Braunton were all out for 151 at Ipplepen, which represented a decent turnaround from 29 for three.
Aussie Aidan Phillips (3-21) and home-grown George Tapley (2-23) did the damage with the ball for Pens.
“Losing early wickets is costing us,” said Reddick. “Ipplepen bowled extremely well early on and it proved too much for us in those conditions.”
Theo Valeri (47) started the Braun-ton fightback, which was taken to the next level by Jon Baglow (21) and Dan Brierley (49).
