Speed eater bites off more than he can chew

A SPEED eating competitor was conquered by a 10,000 calorie roast potato challenge.

Jonny Adams was tasked with eating four-and-a-half kilos of spuds, smothered in a pint of gravy, within 20 minutes.

Anyone who successfully completes the challenge, which costs £20 to enter, gets their meal for free and wins a prize of £100.

But Jonny, 42, from Droylsden, was found wanting and gave up after six minutes.
