MP: Drivers must stop parking on our pavements

AN MP has presented a petition in the House of Commons to stop pavement parking.

Afzal Khan, Labour MP for Gorton and Shadow Justice Minister, called on the Government to outlaw pavement parking that ‘prevents others from living their daily lives’ across Manchester.

Parking on the pavement has a daily impact on residents, including those who are disabled blind or partially sighted, people who are neurodiverse, and parents with young children.

One local wheelchair user told the M.E.N. how life has become ‘incredibly difficult’ getting around her local streets.
