Top-eight or bust for Chiefs in must-win Polokwane showdown

FOLLOWING a season underscored by frustration and under-achievement, a coveted MTN8 berth hangs precariously in the balance at a time when Kaizer Chiefs play their final Premiership match.

- HERMAN GIBBS

This afternoon (3pm start), there will be massive pressure on Chiefs as they host Polokwane City at the FNB Stadium. Their under-fire coach, Nasreddine Nabi, has acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead.

His team has a dismal record of just one win from their last 10 matches.

Currently languishing in ninth place, the Amakhosi are dangerously close to missing out on the top-eight competition for a second successive year. A win against Polokwane will push them to sixth place at best if other results go their way.
