A teacher at a government school in Aligarh has been suspended and booked after he allegedly objected to the singing of Vande Mataram during morning assembly, officials aware of the details said on Thursday.

Shamsul Hasan, a teacher at Poorv Madhyamik Vidyalay —a government higher secondary School in Shahpur Qutub area— allegedly objected when the song was introduced following the National Anthem in the assembly on Wednesday, the officials added.
