2 Held for Defrauding Man of ₹23L in Doon

Two people have been arrested from Delhi for allegedly duping a Dehradun resident of approximately ₹23 lakh under the pretext of offering him a job, a police official said on Friday.

DEHRADUN:
SSP of the special task force (STF) Navneet Singh said a complaint was filed by a Dehradun resident at Cyber Crime Police Station in June 2024 that he was duped of ₹22,96,000 by unidentified people online under the pretext of offering him a job in the United Kingdom.
The accused were identified as Ravi Dhingra (38), a resident of Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh, and Harpal Singh (35), a resident of Mayapuri in West Delhi. They were arrested on January 2.
Singh quoted the complaint as stating: "The victim said that he was contacted by unidentified people on his WhatsApp number that they had received his CV from Naukri.com. The victim was asked to pay ₹14,800 for registration."
