Cabinet scraps 2-child policy for STs, tea tribes

The Assam cabinet on Thursday approved the exemption of Scheduled Tribes (STs), tea tribes and the Moran and Muttock communities from the state’s two-child policy for government jobs and local body elections, chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
