ENZO MARESCA blamed Premier League scheduling for Chelsea drawing a blank at Brentford.

The Blues had one day less than their opponents to prepare after beating Tottenham on Thursday night.

And Chelsea's Champions League hunt was dented as the two teams battled to stalemate.

Maresca, who benched Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson before bringing them on, was asked whether the scheduling was unfair.

He replied: "I think so yes, especially at this stage of the season, but we try to adapt. Thursday night was a demanding game.
