'WE NEED PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN BREXIT'

NIGEL Farage has vowed to deliver the Brexit 17.4 million people voted for if he becomes Prime Minister at the next election.

The Reform UK leader said that the UK needs a Government which believes in being outside the EU so the nation's full potential can truly be unleashed.

His rallying cry comes on today's fifth anniversary of Britain's departure from the European Union.

In a message to Express readers, Mr Farage said a real Brexit had "not been delivered". He insisted: "We now need people in charge to deliver the Brexit we voted for who actually believe in it." He added: "If I [had] sat here five years ago I'd have said to you, 'In five years' time I'd be retired, I'd be out, I'd have done my bit, my 27 years of campaigning finally paid off'. But I'm back." Mr Farage used his tub-thumping video message - which can be viewed online at express.co.uk to take a swipe at some of his political rivals for what he sees as their failure to make the most of Britain's Brexit freedoms.

He continued: "We know Labour were opposed, Starmer wanted a second referendum and the Liberal Democrats the same.

"But I frankly look now at Boris Johnson, Kemi Badenoch, all of these people...I don't think they ever really believed in it.

"I think they used it as a vehicle to win a general election, which I helped them do.
