His nail-biting win at Augusta National realised a life-long ambition and finally saw him complete the game’s grand slam of major championships.

And with glory came the chance to look four-year-old Poppy in the eye and a father to pass on an invaluable lesson in life.

Choking back tears on the 18th green after his play-off heroics, he knelt down to tightly cradle his daughter before scooping her into his arms as his tears flowed.

And, after composing himself, he said: “The one thing I would say to my daughter Poppy is never, ever give up on your dreams.”
