BAE to recruit thousands in UK after defence boom

BAE Systems plans to hire thousands more staff as the company prepares for an increase in global defence spending.
It plans to recruit up to 2,400 appren-tices, undergraduates and graduates in the UK this year.
The British defence business said it was building on its more than £1billion capi-tal expenditure splurge in 2024 to increase capacity.
This includes work on an explosives filling facil-ity in South Wales, a ship-building assembly hall in Glasgow and a ship lift and land-level repair complex in Florida, all of which are set to become operational in the summer.
