'The 14th was my birthday...it was sheer terror...'

A COVENTRY woman whose birthday fell that fateful night 85 years ago when Coventry was destroyed in the Blitz recalls getting the gift of 'sheer terror'.

As the city marks the anniversary of a night that changed Coventry forever, we've been looking into the voices of those who experienced that night first hand.

Coventry Archives, located at the Herbert Art Gallery, is a trove of such first hand material, capturing the voices of hundreds of Coventrians and their memories. One such is Margaret Kirsty, a married woman living in Coventry who shared her memories years later they were captured as part of the archives Blitz collection.
