Shivakumar will be CM in 2 months: Iqbal Hussain

In a major political statement likely to intensify leadership speculation in Karnataka, senior Congress MLA Iqbal Hussain today declared that Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar will "definitely" become the Chief Minister within the next two months, asserting it as a crucial step for the Congress party's future in the state.

"Definitely, 200 percent he will become Chief Minister. We will make him CM. Within two months, he will definitely become the Chief Minister," Hussain told UNI in an interaction. "The party needs dynamic leadership to sustain momentum and consolidate its prospects ahead of 2028."

He warned that a change in leadership was not just desirable, but necessary for the survival of the Congress in Karnataka. "If the Congress party wants to survive and return to power in 2028, this change is essential. God promise, we need a good administration, and this is the right time for our survival," he said.
