Jewson/Hellenic Hallen overcome Cinderford to claim first victory

H ALLEN moved off the foot of the Hellenic League Premier Division table with an impressive 3-2 victory against Cinderford Town.

Hallen's improved form of late finally bore fruit with three points at Moorhouse Lane. Syd Camper put Hallen ahead on four minutes, and although Cinderford soon equalised, Harry Goldspink restored the home side's lead on the half-hour. Elliot Gardner made it 3-1 just after halftime, but Cinderford pulled a goal back in the 72nd minute to set up a tense finish.

Second-placed Roman Glass St George came from a goal down at halftime to win 3-1 at Pershore Town, with two of their goals coming from the penalty spot.

The derby at the Mundy Playing Fields finished 2-2 between Thornbury Town and Mangotsfield United.

The opening goal did not arrive until the hour-mark when Thornbury's Ash Ozua fired home from the edge of the penalty area. Jacob Spence equalised for Mangotsfield,, and the visitors looked to have won it when George Neill converted a hotly-disputed penalty in the 86th minute. However, 17-year-old Sam Moseley scored with a superb freekick in the seventh minute of stoppage-time to rescue a point for Thorns.
