K2LD Architects crafts a Good Class Bungalow that harmoniously melds landscape, architecture, and curated furnishings by Marq HQO

Tucked within one of Singapore's most coveted residential enclaves, the House of Kirin is a masterclass in tropical living. Designed by K2LD Architects under the leadership of Ko Shiou Hee, this Good Class Bungalow exemplifies the seamless integration of architecture, landscape and interior detailing. At its core is a tranquil courtyard anchored by a bonsai tree, establishing a contemplative focal point for the home. Primary living areas orient towards this lush sanctuary, with a gracefully curved swimming pool weaving the indoor and outdoor environments together.

Furniture consultancy Marq HQO collaborated closely with K2LD to furnish the residence, selecting pieces that embody quiet sophistication and tactile richness. “The integration of the landscape and outdoor spaces into the house, along with the views of the garden and water features from every space and angle, was carefully crafted and enhanced through the thoughtful placement of the furniture,” share the K2LD design team, comprising studio principal director Ko Shiou Hee, senior associate Charlotte Wong, and interior designer Eileen Wong. The result is a layered, serene home in which every detail, from the natural stone cladding to the placement of the bespoke furnishings, contributes to an immersive sensory experience.
