ARCHITECTURE OF TIME
Everyone loves a good comeback. With the 2025 Privé Tank à Guichets, Cartier has resurrected one of its archives' most eccentric pieces. The Guichets (French for “ticket window”) is the classic Tank reduced to almost elemental form. Released in 1928 at the height of the Art Deco era and famously worn by Duke Ellington, the timepiece has no dial and no hands—just two tiny apertures displaying hours and minutes. Nearly a century later its bold minimalism still feels like a challenge to watchmaking writ large.

The documentary “Traces of Home” by Colette Ghunim is a tender, fearless debut that unfolds like a mirror held up to memory itself. Blending vérité filmmaking, animation, and archival materials, the documentary traces Ghunim’s deeply personal journey to reconnect her parents with the homes they were forced to leave as children — her mother from Mexico, fleeing domestic violence, and her father from Palestine, displaced from his ancestral land.
