I absolutely concur and applaud the quote by Japanese architect and 1987 Pritzker Prize winner Kenzō Tange that goes “Architecture must have something that appeals to the human heart. Creative work is expressed in our time as a union of technology and humanity.” Design is an act of not only aesthetical capabilities, but social sensibilities also. The projects featured in this issue truly resonate with this notion. For this month’s cover, it’s delightful to feature the Vadodara home by Manoj Patel of Manoj Patel Design Studio that aptly captures the beauty of life by building it around an artistic, sculptural tree. Rahul Mistri of Open Atelier Mumbai designed a seaside apartment home in Mumbai which is interwoven with a combination of subtlety and sophistication. Hemant Malani & Neha Malani Tapadia of HRM & Associates channeled an urban-chic vibe in the Nagpur home using splashes of bold colour and texture over a base of muted colour tones. Strategically segregated spaces across different levels and a modern-contemporary elegance takes the spotlight at the Visakhapatnam home by Aditya Kambhatla and Jay Prakash of Project Inc - Architects & Interior Designers. Rishi Raj Khare of Inspire Design and Associates brings a spacious, contemporary aura through the play of light and detailing at this Bilaspur office. Areas flow smoothly into each other and the beautiful landscape fosters a memorable journey through the landscaped area of the Hyderabad salon designed by Meghna Dulani Gehenwar & Shashwat Gehenwar of The Pinewood Studio. Finally, I would love to announce the return of GLITZ Design Honour 2022! Entries open on April 5th 2022.
