Harry & Meghan's 7-YEAR ITCH
WOMAN - UK
|July 14, 2025
Courtiers and senior royals thought their marriage would never last. Will Harry and Meghan fall victim to the seven-year itch, asks royal expert Emily Andrews
-
A senior royal branded Meghan 'the degree wife' because 'she'll only last three years'. Prince Philip apparently also chipped in, calling her 'DoW' after Wallis Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor, and reportedly advised Harry that, 'One steps out with actresses, one doesn't marry them.'
But after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary earlier this year, has Meghan had the last laugh?
Certainly, the Sussexes appear happier than ever, with their date nights, holidays and gorgeous family photos of fun times splashed all over Meghan's Instagram.
With their frequent public expressions of how amazing the other one is, it's hard to believe they could fall victim to the seven-year itch trend that befalls others in marriages at the same stage.Yet despite the 'picture-perfect' family Meghan, 43, portrays on social media and in advertising for her As Ever lifestyle brand, there seems to be a growing chasm between the Sussexes as they increasingly go their separate ways in their business ventures.
Initially, after their departure from the UK in 2020 amid huge family fall-outs, they signed joint multimillion-dollar deals with Netflix and Spotify.
