THE MUSIC OF MILAN (1967)

‘Milan’ was produced by veteran producer-director LV Prasad and starred Sunil Dutt opposite Nutan. Before ‘Milan’, Prasad had produced hit musical films like ‘Chhoti Bahen’ and ‘Beti Bete’. For ‘Milan’, he moved from Shankar Jaikishan to LaxmikantPyarelal (LP).

All of Prasad’s movies had a lot of pathos and melodrama and ‘Milan’ was no exception. Laxmikant Pyarelal rose to the occasion and produced a sparkling album featuring Mukesh at his best along with Lata Mangeshkar. The film became a big hit at the box office and the music won LP a number of well-deserved awards. All the songs were written by Anand Bakshi.
