Driving discussed with older relatives
Western Morning News
|November 18, 2025
NEARLY half (46%) of adults with an older relative who drives have had a conversation with them about whether they are safe behind the wheel, a new survey suggests.
Charity IAM RoadSmart, which commissioned the research, called for a review of the renewal system for older drivers’ licences.
Some 35% of survey respondents who have spoken to an older person about road safety said they did so because they felt anxious when driven by them.
A fifth (20%) said they noticed new dents or scratches on the person's car.
