After the heat, the deluge is on its way
Western Mail
|July 19, 2025
THOSE hoping for a dry and sunny start to the school summer holidays will be disappointed as unsettled weather sweeps across the UK in a stark contrast to the recent heatwave.
-
After issuing a number of yellow weather warnings for thunderstorms, the Met Office has now issued an amber warning for parts of the UK today.
The first yellow thunderstorm warnings came into effect for parts of England yesterday, and warnings for most of the country come into force today. The amber storm warning has been issued for parts of east and southeast England, including London, from 4am until 11am today.
While there have not been any warnings issued for those of us in Wales, we certainly aren't escaping the downpours or risk of storms.
