New digital manufacturing investment wave begins
Vietnam Investment Review
|January 19, 2026
Vietnam is becoming a fertile land for investments into digital manufacturing and research, as demonstrated through a new semiconductor chip manufacturing plant and digital technology park.
Hanoi People's Committee and FPT Group on January 16 began work on a digital technology park complex in Tay Tuu and Phu Dien wards. The large-scale technology undertaking is expected to contribute to the formation of new growth poles based on science, technology, and innovation.
To be developed before 2031, but with some sections operational in 2027, the 196.8-hectare initiative is designed and operated according to green building standards, aiming for sustainable development and creating a comprehensive work-live-innovate environment.
The centrepiece is a digital technology park focusing on innovation and digital transformation, alongside an area designed as an open park, creating a high-quality environment for work, research, and living.
Hanoi and FPT aim to build a comprehensive, and high-quality environment for businesses to research, produce, and develop advanced technologies; attract domestic and foreign experts and scientists; and develop an innovative startup ecosystem.
