CM directs Anubrata with key instructions at TMC meet

The visit holds both administrative and political weight, as top leaders like Mayor Goutam Deb and MLA Khageswar Roy oversee ground-level preparation

With Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee scheduled to arrive in Siliguri on Monday, final preparations are underway at multiple venues across the city. While state government officials are working around the clock to finalize arrangements for the Chief Minister's official programmes, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders are actively supervising on-ground preparations.

Given the early onset of the monsoon in North Bengal, which has brought intermittent heavy rainfall, special attention is being paid to the outdoor venue at Dabgram-Fulbari. The Chief Minister is expected to address a public meeting there on May 20. Political leaders and administrative officials are closely monitoring the site to ensure the weather does not disrupt the event.

Due to persistent rainfall over the past few days, the field at Dabgram-Fulbari has become slippery. Agencies tasked with preparing the venue are working on a war footing to implement necessary arrangements, including protective measures against water-logging and surface damage.

Two of the Chief Minister's other scheduled events will take place indoors. The North Bengal Business Meet will be held at Dinabandhu mancha under the aegis of the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs. On May 21, the Chief Minister will chair an administrative review meeting at Uttarkanya—the branch state secretariat in Siliguri. She is scheduled to stay in Siliguri from May 19 to 22 before returning to Kolkata.
